Everly and I joined my husband in New York City since he was there for work. It’s always a treat to get a little more family time in during the evenings since he travels so much so it’s a blessing for us to travel with him occasionally. NYC is colorful, vibrant, and just bursting with energy. Everly is obsessed with the taxis and truth be told, we have spent most of our time in Central Park.
Last week before my husband headed to work, he joined us for a very early morning walk. We were actually went to the World Trade Center Memorial. It was a very moving day to day the least, and definitely worth the visit. We met a very sweet gentleman who survived. He is now a volunteer. He told us how he got out of the North Tower, walking down nearly 50 flights of stairs. It was a conversation that I will never forget. The memorial area is very crowded by 9ish in the morning, but they open early at 7:30am. The memorial site is a place of such evil and darkness for thousands of people and their families. I was reminded however that good will always overcome evil. The site is very calm and peaceful. I personally thought that the designers did a great job constructing such a place.
On a more light-hearted note, I have been walking everywhere in maternity jeans. I finally broke down and got some. I had totally forgotten how comfortable they are. 🙂 For those not pregnant, these are my normal go-to from AG. They are equally as comfortable minus the stretchy tummy part. I will say that the maternity jeans do stretch more than the normal version so for anyone on the lookout, don’t size up for the maternity option! 🙂
Hope that you are having a lovely start to the week and thanks for stopping by!
