You all may have seen me talking about the postpartum phase on my Instagram account…it’s crazy how much your body changes! The entire birth process is so beautiful, and bringing children into this world is a true blessing. But, the body has been changing — I can’t fit back into many of my clothes yet and it seems better not to stress about it. Yes, I have “THOSE DAYS,” but, in general I am just embracing this stage of body image. I have received many questions about what I’m wearing these days! I have found many items that really work well and make me feel put together. In general, I look for something that is breast-feeding friendly and that I might be able to wear when I lose some of this weight so that my purchases can have longer shelf life and be more economical. When you feel more put together, it’s crazy how much that can positively impact your mood and your day! Below I’ve rounded up all my postpartum favorites for the mama! And, many of them, are super cozy and helpful {AKA SPANX} for any lady, not just a mama in the postpartum phase! If you have anything to add to the list, please let me know!! I would love to know what works for other ladies!! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day! xo Christine
1. Spanx Underwear: I have been wearing THESE high-waisted ones and they are amazing, even with the C-section scar. {BIRTH story HERE}
2. THESE LEGGINGS: I have tried so many leggings and these really compress your stomach. I don’t use a belly band, but these act as one.
3. Nursing Bra: This one is so comfortable, provides great support, and is so pretty, too. Plus, not having the underwire is very helpful, too.
4. Undershirt: This one is tight-fitting, but very cozy and perfect for nursing.
5. Nightshirts: Having pretty pajamas is always fun when you slip into bed. Right now, though, nightshirts fit the bill. They are pretty, comfortable, and very practical with nursing. I love the style and fit of THESE from Nordstrom {Under $50 and the material is AMAZING}. This one is fun for the holidays, too. Check back soon for a fun Holiday Sister PJ post! {So excited to share that.}
6. Long Tunics and Long Sweaters: I have been wearing long tunics and longer sweaters over my leggings. Long tunics are very forgiving. You can easily pair it with a longer vest or cardigan and feel very put together. I have been wearing that look on repeat for anyone who follows me on Insta! 🙂 I love Vince blouses, these tunics {under $50}, and longer sweaters and cardigans from Halogen.
7. Flowy Dresses or Wrap Dresses: It’s hard to find a good nursing dress that is also forgiving in style. I have found one and love these DVF wrap dresses, but am still on the lookout for others.
8. Spanx TIGHTS: These tights definitely compress your stomach and look great with dresses and skirts. They are very warm, too, which is perfect for winter.
9. House Clothes: Slippers and robes are so cozy for being around the house. I love sweaters from Ugg. They are very warm and make me feel put together with leggings, since I am at home so much!
10. A Little Makeup: I don’t spend much time getting ready every day, but putting on a little makeup always makes me feel put together. I love Beautycounter and use their products because they are so safe yet highly-effective. I am very careful with what I put on my skin since it absorbs everything and I couldn’t love Beautycounter more.
