Happy 2017, friends! It’s been very quiet on the blog here the past two weeks. We soaked up as much family time as possible, experienced our first Christmas ever as a family of four (which was delightful), went to Charleston for a little getaway, and saw extended family in North Carolina! I am SO excited about this year. Turning a page with a bright new start! It feels AMAZING! I can’t wait to show you guys my newly re-designed website and re-launch in just a FEW WEEKS…EEK!! YAY! It’s something that I have been working on FOREVER and am finally FINISHING IT and pulling the trigger.
Speaking of…what do you all think of goals instead of resolutions? Oftentimes, resolutions get forgotten about within a few weeks of making them. I read somewhere, but can’t remember where, that most resolutions never take flight because they are unattainable and create too much restriction. This year, we made a few attainable goals, both personally {as a wife and mother} and professionally! 2016 was quite a year for us with sweet Isabelle joining our family, my husband starting his Executive MBA, adding Beautycounter to my brand and business, among other things! You all may have seen the few highs and lows that I posted over on Instagram right before the new year.
Anyway, here are a FEW of my goals this year. My word for 2017 is FINISH. I get SO distracted and never finish things I start, which I am really trying to work on so that’s why I am focusing on the word FINISH! I am great at starting stuff, but terrible at follow-through and finishing it. Did you all make goals? What do you think of goals instead of resolutions? Hope that you are having a great start to 2017! Thanks again for stopping by! xo Christine
* Have one date night a week with my husband, even if it’s a date night at home. I feel like we are ships passing in the night so we want to be more intentional about this.
* Finish my blog redesign, finish decorating my house, finish decorating my girls’ rooms, re-design the basement to be a playroom and functional office space, finish losing my baby weight, and finish a few online classes that I started in 2016.
* In November 2016, I made a conscience effort to see my girlfriends. We got a fun group together and went out for a nice dinner on the town. I want to continue to do this once a month this year. It is really nice to catch up with dear friends without little ones in tow. Not all of these ladies were moms, and it is wonderful to support each other in our respective seasons of life.
* Spend 5-10 minutes in the morning praying and reading my Bible. It really starts the day on the right foot, for me, at least. I was terrible at this last year.
* Don’t get distracted…this may seem obvious, but I get so distracted and bored easily, which is probably why I have a hard time finishing things. I sit down to do something and then find myself browsing online or scrolling through Facebook and I never finish what I sat down to do. This sounds simple, but it is a major goal of mine. With the little ones in tow and limited time, I have to be more laser-focused when I do carve out the time to get things done.
* There are many blogging projects that I want to do, but one of the major goals is consistency with my posting schedule! I want you all to be able to know when to expect a new post from me! It seems like we have a better handle on things over here now. While life happens and I’m a full-time mom blogging and running a home-based business as well, I am determined to be consistent! I’ve been terrible at this in the past. So excited about my re-launch so please be sure to check back soon!!
