
Ok, so you all may look at my title and be like, what?! Today I wanted to share the magic of bone broth! Yes, you are reading this right. Bone broth has helped me so much to heal from my second c-section as well as the postpartum period in general. For those of you who have been reading my blog for a while, you know that I had a very difficult recovery from my first c-section. The recovery with my second daughter has been totally opposite, in a good way. I credit this to a variety of different things I did, one of which was drinking bone broth consistently. In all seriousness though, it’s the perfect afternoon pick-me-up for anyone, pregnant, postpartum or not because it gives you SO MUCH energy! 🙂
I have been drinking bone broth for a few years now, on and off! However, I honestly think that the Bare Bones Broth is the best…not only is it paleo, whole 30-approved, grass-fed and organic, but the flavoring of this particular bone broth is seriously amazing! I can’t get enough of this stuff. 🙂 If you don’t know much about broth, bone broth is not a new fad, although it may seem like it. For me, the Bare Bones bone broth provides additional energy, gives me the extra protein I need right now, increases my milk supply since I am a nursing mother, and its collagen and other nutrient-dense properties have greatly helped my body heal from a major surgery. I also personally believe that because it is so nutrient-dense, full of healthy fats, and very soothing on the stomach, it really helps my second daughter sleep well, which is such an added bonus. My husband loves this stuff, too! It’s an ideal pick-me-up on a cold winter’s day. Bone broth has been a little miracle worker with my c-section recovery and postpartum period in general.
