Hey gals!! The highly anticipated Nordstrom sale or #Nsale starts today for Nordstrom card holders, and I have mixed feelings about it. But first, let me tell you what it is. It’s that ONE SALE of the year where you can find brand new clothes for the upcoming season at very discounted prices. If you DON’T have a Nordstrom card, I would honestly suggest getting one. You can get one HERE. It’s no hassle and with that card you can shop now, otherwise, you have to wait until Juy 22nd. A lot of the popular items WILL SELL out within days, so if the sale interests you, definitely go ahead and get the card.
NOW, you may wonder why I have mixed feelings about it. Here is WHY. I really believe that a sale isn’t a sale unless you need something. Personally, I have had items go to “waste” aka not worn too much in my closet or simply get lost in my closet when I used to constantly shop sales just for the sake of the sale. Recently, I cleaned out more than HALF of my closet….NOT EVEN KIDDING. It’s so freeing. I have been slowly adding pieces and have been very thoughtful about what I add. The END RESULT has been great…less stuff, less money spent, more organization in my closet and less fuzz. I can always find what I want to wear quickly. So, I feel like when “everyone” {especially on social media} is talking about this sale, AKA THE SALE OF THE YEAR, and that you need all of this cute stuff for fall, take a step back and ask yourself if you actually need it. If you do need something and shop within that frame work, I guarantee you that you will only buy what you actually need and will be better off for it.
That being said, if you need a new pair of Ugg boots or a great pair of jeans or a classic black skirt or a NEW pair of exercise pants {I live in these in the wintertime}, now is the time to get them. The Nordstrom sale is a great opportunity to stock up on basics that are highly discounted now, but will go back up in price within a few weeks. I’m including a few tips for shopping this sale at the end of the post because it can be quite overwhelming. 🙂 Here are my initial picks that are all UNDER $200 of the sale, but I will be having more posts about the sale by category within the coming days so I hope that it will be helpful for you should you be looking for something and not quite sure where to start! 🙂 Let me know if you all any questions! Hope that you are having a great day! xo Christine

TIPS for SALE SHOPPING:
- Put together a list of what you need or at least what you think you will need for the coming season. You can include items like Christmas gifts and get them checked off your list NOW. OR, you may be looking for a classic dress to wear to a few work functions. OR, you may need some fall staples like jeans and a cashmere sweater.
- THEN, go through and clean out your closet. I think that you list will be all the more apparent AND you may find things that you had forgotten about. 🙂
- THEN, assess your budget. If you really want a pair of designer jeans and you can afford around $150 for the sale, then put all your “eggs in that basket.” Getting one item that you LOVE and that feels GOOD on YOU within YOUR BUDGET will be better in the long run than getting a bunch of smaller things. At least that has been my experience. 🙂
- THEN, SHOP! 🙂 I hope that this helps, but please feel free to ask me any questions!! I am happy to help.
